Welcome back to my 2021 Colorful Christmas Home Tour! If you joined me for Part 1 yesterday, you explored the vibrant downstairs of our home, brimming with festive cheer. Today, I’m thrilled to open the doors to our more intimate spaces – the bedrooms and our specially decorated upstairs hallway. Get ready to discover how we infuse the magic of Christmas into every corner, making our home a truly joyful haven.

Throughout this tour, I’ve included links to many of the delightful Christmas decorations featured in our home. My goal is to make it easy for you to find and replicate these looks, adding your own personal touch. While direct shopping galleries are not included in this HTML, many items are linked directly within the text for your convenience.

Let’s begin our journey in the bedrooms. We approach bedroom decorating with a philosophy of subtle charm rather than overwhelming extravagance. It’s about creating a serene and cozy atmosphere that subtly whispers “Christmas.” For years, we didn’t decorate our girls’ rooms at all, until they reached an age (around seven) where they started expressing their own desire for festive touches. Now, it’s a cherished tradition for all of us to enjoy a bit of holiday magic in our personal sanctuaries.

Our Master Bedroom: A Serene & Festive Retreat

Our master bedroom is the first stop, a space designed for relaxation and comfort. This year, I focused on a few impactful pieces to transform it into a Christmas oasis. Above our bed, I added this beautiful art print, its wintery scene perfectly complementing the cozy vibe. Alongside some cherished old garland, a couple of colorful Christmas tree pillows instantly elevate the festive feel. It’s truly amazing how a handful of thoughtfully chosen items can utterly change the ambiance of a room, making it feel like a warm, inviting Christmas embrace.

This Christmas marks the first year any of us have ventured into themed Christmas sheets, but when I stumbled upon these adorable dog-themed flannel sheets at Target for only $35, I knew they were a must-have. The delightful dog pattern combined with their lovely flannel quality was irresistible. They bring such joy and a playful touch to our bedding. You can catch a glimpse of their charm in the photo below. Regular readers will also spot another new addition: our new bedroom rug, a piece we absolutely adore and that truly ties the room together.

Confession time: this stunning Christmas tree wasn’t originally destined for our bedroom. I initially purchased it for the coffee nook area showcased in Part 1 of this tour, drawn in by its fantastic price. However, it proved to be a bit too wide for that specific spot. A quick pivot landed it in our bedroom, and I couldn’t be more delighted! I’m absolutely smitten with the look of this style of tree unadorned, allowing its natural beauty to shine. We won’t be adding ornaments or anything else to this one; it’s simply perfect as is. The soft, ambient glow of Christmas lights as we unwind at night is, without a doubt, one of my favorite new additions to our holiday decor.

Another clever touch I implemented was adding this delightful digital art piece to the smart TV in our gallery wall. At a mere 82 cents, it’s an incredibly affordable way to inject instant holiday cheer! Transforming our basic smart TV into a framed art display, and showcasing seasonal art, is a brilliant hack for flexible decor. You can learn all about how I gave our smart TV the look of a gold frame and how to display digital art on any smart TV in this dedicated post.

Avery’s Room: A Harmonious & Understated Christmas

Next, we visit Avery’s room. As you may know, Avery prefers a more subdued palette, and I made sure to honor her preference in her Christmas decorations. Her room features the least colorful holiday decor you’ll see from me, yet it embodies a distinct beauty and perfectly reflects her unique style. She absolutely adores it! Before you ask, the charming plaid stag head has been a beloved possession for many years, so unfortunately, I don’t have a direct link for it. However, you can find the lovely print above her bed HERE.

Attley’s Room: A Burst of Joyful Christmas Colors

Now, prepare for a delightful contrast as we step into Attley’s room! As many of you know, Attley is my ultimate color enthusiast, and her room truly reflects her vibrant personality. Consequently, her Christmas decor differs drastically from Avery’s more understated approach. While her existing, stunning wall mural can sometimes act as a vibrant camouflage, making Christmas decor a subtle art, I’ve managed to sprinkle in plenty of festive touches. Above her bed, I added some charming felt snowflakes (which are actually cleverly repurposed placemats!) and this enchanting light-up garland. She absolutely loves having the garland glowing at night, adding a magical twinkle to her space. It’s more prominent in person, but you can certainly spot its whimsical presence in the photos! And of course, when I saw this adorable pillow, I knew it had to be hers.

Her desk bookcase also received a festive upgrade with some really cute letters spelling out “MERRY,” adding a cheerful message to her creative corner. It’s these small, personal additions that truly make a child’s room feel special during the holidays, reflecting their individual preferences and bringing smiles to their faces.

Just like Avery, Attley has her own tiny tabletop tree, nestled alongside some charming chalk art she created herself a couple of years ago on her bedside table. These personal touches and handmade elements are truly priceless, making their rooms uniquely theirs during the most wonderful time of the year. It’s about blending their personalities with the spirit of the season.

The Hallway: A Magical Christmas Street

Our journey naturally leads us into the hallway, a space that received a truly transformative makeover earlier this year. If you missed our super unique hallway makeover, here’s the enchanting concept: I envisioned making the girls’ bedroom doors resemble exterior doors to charming apartments or townhouses. This imaginative design creates a magical, whimsical feel that stays up year-round. However, it was exceptionally fun to decorate for Christmas, turning our interior hallway into a festive little street scene! You can delve into many more photos and read all the captivating details about the hallway makeover here. You can also watch a visual recap of this incredible transformation in the video below.

The Hallway Landing: A Gallery of Christmas Memories

This brings us to our final stop on this upstairs tour: the inviting hallway landing. One of my absolute favorite decorating decisions this Christmas was to swap out the everyday photos in our gallery wall with cherished snapshots from all our past Christmases with our sweet girls. This simple change instantly transforms the space into a heartwarming display of family memories, evoking nostalgia and spreading pure joy every time we walk by. It’s a wonderful way to honor our family’s holiday traditions and watch our girls grow through the years. Additionally, I proudly displayed Attley and Avery’s growing nutcracker collection here. We started a tradition of gifting each of them a new nutcracker for Christmas a while back, and seeing their collection expand year after year truly adds to the festive charm and personal history of this space.
